outstanding husband, father, friend, and community leader, was a servant of God
and of his fellow man; and

and
WHEREAS,
we should all draw strength from his bravery, wisdom from his integrity, and
determination from his passion; and
WHEREAS,
Perry Goad lived the following words written by Ira F. Stanphill:
"Oh,
Jesus if I die upon a foreign field some
day,
'Twould be no more than love demands,
No less could I repay
'No greater love hath mortal man
Than for a friend to die'...
But if by death to living
They can Thy glory see,
I'll take the cross and follow close to Thee."
